NEWS | 21 September 2022

Rider of the month: Tommy

“My name is Thomas but most of my friends call me Tommy and I am 28 years old. I am a
nursery teacher and I come from the 21st district of Vienna, Austria. Besides
motorcycling, I love shredding the streets with my skateboard.”

1. In one word, why do you ride a motorcycle?
Independency

2. What was it about Brixton Motorcycles that got your attention?
Mostly the unique design of all the Brixton Motorcycles. Especially the classic vintage style
of the Cromwell in the Backstage Black colour appealed to me because it fits to my own
personal style.

3. What Brixton are you riding? What’s your favourite thing about it?
The Brixton Cromwell 125 in Backstage Black. And what I enjoy most is the pure riding
pleasure, high riding comfort and easy handling. Also, riding in a metropolis like Vienna
turns you into an eye catcher for most pedestrians and other drivers. I have to admit that I
enjoy the feeling that these gazing eyes bring very much.

4. How long have you been riding for?
I started in February 2022. The Brixton Cromwell has been my ride since day one.

5. You said you also love to skateboard, do you take your board with you on your bike?
Sometimes, but not often. I think there are quite a few similarities between skateboarding
and riding a motorcycle, in both subcultures you have a sense of freedom, you can always
do whatever you want and nobody gives you a direction.

6. What’s the craziest ride you’ve been on? Where do you plan on going next?
So far, it was a tour with a friend through the south-eastern Austrian country side. The landscape there
is very flat and has no mountains, in contrast to the western side of Austria where the Alps are. One day,
the wind was especially fierce, reaching close to 45 km/h. So withstanding the gusts of wind was
challenging. The Brixton did not let me down and I am glad to have experienced this challenge. Because
now I am sure that me and my Brixton grew to an even stronger team and we will overcome any challenge
on future rides. I am currently planning a 10 day road trip through Austria in summer, again, with a good
friend of mine and fellow Brixton Cromwell rider.

7. The furthest from home you’ve ever been on your Brixton?
About 350 km.

8. The most beautiful place you’ve been on your Brixton?
To answer this question, I gladly do not need to gaze into the distance too long. Because the route I enjoy
riding most of all is in the middle of the Vienna city centre. There is a street called The Ring and it passes
almost all of the city’s historic attractions. Riding The Ring at night with my Brixton is a one-of-a-kind
experience due to the beautiful lights and sites you get to experience there.

9. Would you rather ride on ocean roads or mountain passes?
I definitely would prefer the ocean roads. Unfortunately, Vienna and also Austria is not near the ocean.
But maybe a future road trip will bring my Brixton and me to the sea.

10. The best place to run out of gas?
This question is easy to answer: definitely a cool bar with loads of chilled beer!
