Rider of the month: Denis

I’m Denis, a 17-year-old boy who is passionate about motorcycles and engines. My passion for engines started thanks to my father, who a motorcyclist since before I was born. For a long time I was looking for a motorcycle that suited my needs. Until I discovered the scrambler style. Now I ride a Brixton Felsberg 125. I chose this model because: You can go anywhere, with the oldschool style you never go unnoticed, it’s comfortable and adventurous. I love it.

What inspired you to start riding a motorcycle?

To be able to travel alone and not be dependent on my parents or anyone else. The adrenaline, the fun of riding and the adventure made me want to buy a motorcycle.

What song would you use to describe riding a motorcycle?

I think the song that suits my Brixton and me best is: Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley & The Wailers

How would you describe the difference between riding on the road and riding on the track? How do you prepare for a tour?

I have never ridden on a motorcycle racetrack, but I would like to do so sometime. On a racetrack you can use the whole road to ride safely and there is no oncoming traffic. When riding on the road you have to be careful and respectful. Before a ride I check the condition of the motorcycle: tire pressure, oil level, fuel level and lubricate the chain. Putting on good protective clothing is the most important preparation for a ride!!

What does riding a motorcycle mean to you personally?

For me, riding a motorcycle is freedom, happiness, being part of a huge community of people with the same passion as me.

How did you get involved with Brixton and how do you know the brand?

I got to know the brand through friends who work for a retailer in the area, I liked it, I found out about the different models and I bought my Felsberg 125. It was a great decision – I’ve loved my Brixton since day one.

What “update” should not be missing from your Brixton? Have you changed anything on the motorcycle?

On my Brixton I replaced the mirrors, now they are mounted on the sides of the handlebars. I added a bag from the Italian army and shortened the plate holder, so it looks more aggressive.

If you could build your own motorcycle, what would it look like?

If I had to design a motorcycle from scratch I would think of it with a twin-cylinder engine like the Crossfire 500 and with a modern style: LED lighting, ignition, modern technologies… At the same time old school: leather details, knobby wheels, engine protection bar with additional yellow light… in full scrambler style. I like motorcycle-styles like this.

What else would you like to tell us about your Brixton?

I’m looking forward to this summer, which I will enjoy again with my Felsberg 125 – after the summer I will buy a Crossfire 500 XC 😁
