In November 2019, Brixton Motorcycles announced the draw of a Crossfire 500. This year, on January 15th, live on social media from its headquarters in Krems, Austria, Brixton has randomly picked the winner. More than 12,000 people were waiting on the other side of the mobile, hoping to win the biggest Brixton machine so far. That day, Alfonso de Gonzalo García received the great news: the Brixton Crossfire 500 was going to Spain.
Unfortunately the Covid-19 pandemic delayed the production and the arrival of the new model, but finally on Saturday October 2nd Alfonso was invited to Tad Motor Store, Brixton Motorcycles official shop in Madrid, to receive his new motorbike.
After testing the bike for a few days, Alfonso tells us his first feelings.
Now that you have the bike, what do you think of the Brixton Crossfire 500?
The Brixton Crossfire 500 has far exceeded my expectations of it.
I think the Brixton Crossfire 500 is a true beauty, it is a very dynamic bike and it adapts to riding in an amazing way. I hadn’t ridden a bike for a while and I was a little worried that it was too unstable and heavy, but that’s not the case, it gives a lot of security.
Where was the first place you took the bike? Who did you want to show it to first?
Well, unfortunately, because of the whole Covid thing and the regulations that have taken place in Madrid, I couldn’t go where I had planned to go but I decided to go for a ride practically all over Madrid city and that was a great feeling. I wanted to show it first to my family and friends who were almost as excited as I was.
What surprised you most about the bike?
When I saw it for the first time I was really surprised by the size. I was expecting a smaller and more compact bike, it was something that worried me because I wanted a big bike that would give me more security and confidence. But it’s actually the perfect size for my height.
You are one of the first to ride a Crossfire 500 in Spain, we imagine that you must be looked at a lot at traffic lights. Tell us what sensations this gives you and what comments you have received about the bike.
It definitely attracts attention, it is a motorbike that makes itself seen and people stare at it at traffic lights and when it is parked. The comments from people are very positive, most often are they about the LED headlight, the fuel tank and the characteristic deep, powerful sound it has.
What do you like most about the bike?
I honestly don’t know what I like most about it because it is the bike itself that I love. Every day I discover something new. If I had to decide it would probably be the aesthetics: the tank, the detailed finishes of the brand in many parts of the bike and its led light. On the other hand, in terms of performance, what I like most is the power and strength, it’s a bike with a lot of character.
We hope Alfonso enjoys his new Crossfire 500 and we wish him many unforgettable adventures with the motorcycle!
